GLITTER: How old were you when you wrote your first song?

JORDAN: I was nine years old when I wrote my first song. It was definitely the written work of a nine year old but it was the start of my musical career.

GLITTER: Are you working on a debut album that you can tell us about?

JORDAN: I’m in the process of getting my EP together. Over the past couple of years I have been writing and recording a lot! I want the EP to really represent me as an artist. I have a few songs that will definitely be on my EP, but am still working on more songs. It should be released sometime around the summer. Can’t wait for you guys to hear it!

GLITTER: What can you tell us about your “Hopping Fences” video?

JORDAN: I loved working on the “Hopping Fences” video! I was thrilled to work with the Director, Alan Smith McIntyre, who also directed my other two original music videos. We shot this video all in one day starting at 7 am and finishing at 10 pm. We did get lucky because it was 40 degrees and we were able to shoot at some amazing outside locations in and around NYC. I was also happy that a few of my friends were able to be extras in the video. I had the best day!

GLITTER: Where do you find your inspiration in songwriting?

JORDAN: I find my inspiration in songwriting from my life experiences, friends, and family inspire me to sing and write music. Honestly even strangers inspire me everyday. I write from memories, books, movies, and sometimes even dreams. I write about the kindness of a friend or the expression on someone’s face. People and everyday experiences inspire me to write music.

GLITTER: Is it true that you have a twin as well? Does he record music with you?

JORDAN: I do have a twin brother, Tyler, and we’re so close! He is not a musician but he does have an amazing talent for ice hockey. He is vey dedicated and plays almost every day. My brother also loves to DJ and makes his own music mixes so maybe one day he and I will record music.

GLITTER: How would you describe your sound?

JORDAN: I started off my musical career singing and writing more Pop based music. As I have gotten older, my singing-songwriting has changed more towards Indie Pop. The lyrics I write are always meaningful to me and I think that comes across in the style of my music.

GLITTER: What is your favorite part about songwriting?

JORDAN: The whole process of writing a song is my favorite! I start writing with a basic concept – a spark. Then comes the brainstorming and assembly; which creates somewhat of a story. Once I have some lyrics I start humming a tune in my head. Then figuring out chords on my guitar or piano. I know my song is complete when the lyrics are meaningful and it is something I would want to listen to on my iPod or on the radio. There is always a message behind my songs. Every song has a different message but they all convey their own special story. I always write about something that is important to me and has something to do with me personally or the lives of people I see around me.

GLITTER: Who is your dream collaboration with?

JORDAN: My dream collaboration would be with Ed Sheeran! Seeing as I’m a lyricist Ed Sheeran, is definitely a huge inspiration of mine. I believe that songs speak to people and he speaks to me through his lyrics. He is truly my inspiration!

GLITTER: Do you believe that practice makes perfect?

JORDAN: Yes! The best advice I have ever gotten was that the only way to succeed is to practice. The more I practice the more I have learned that is the key to success! If you haven’t practiced you may not be ready for the opportunity that comes around the corner.

GLITTER: If you could perform with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be and why?

JORDAN: If I could perform with anyone it would be Avril Lavigne! She is one of the reasons I started to truly love music. I was so excited when I was 8 years old to go to her concert because it was my first time ever going to a music concert. She was amazing on stage! Avril was the first artist I have ever loved and idolized. She was a big part of why I wanted to become a musician.

GLITTER: What was it like to be one of the faces of Smooth Sailing Co.’s summer line?

JORDAN: It was such an awesome and fun experience working with Steven and modeling for Smooth Sailing Clothing Co. Steven is an insanely talented photographer and really knew how to capture the best photo shot. I also got to wear some insanely cool clothes and meet Stages and Stereos before their show!

GLITTER: Dream gig?

JORDAN: My biggest musical performance dream would to be on stage at Madison Square Garden. I have lived in NYC my whole life and have seen many of my favorite performers on this stage. I know this is a big dream but I have always liked to dream big!

GLITTER: What do you have planned for the upcoming year?

JORDAN: I will be performing in a few upcoming gigs, working on my EP, and writing and recording more songs.
