INTERVIEW WITH BROOKE SORENSON
Glitter recently sat down with actress, Brooke Sorenson, to talk about when she first started acting, what it’s like to play Madison on The Thundermans, her guest role on the ABC hit comedy, Modern Family, her new singles, her one message to our readers, and her secret crush. She won’t tell us yet, but maybe someday she will. Read on to find out more about this extremely talented singer and actress!

GLITTER: Can you tell us when you first started acting?
BROOKE: I first started acting in my hometown – Charlotte, North Carolina. I was always super outgoing, always talking to strangers and I had so much energy, my mom put me in classes at our local community theater, and it was love at first sight. I was 6 when I was doing a little play for our class and I told my mom “I don’t want to just perform for parents, I want strangers to want to come watch me perform, not parents who are forced!” Then it was clear this is what I wanted to do.
GLITTER: What’s it like to play Madison on The Thundermans?
BROOKE: Madison is a fun character to play. She is the head of the cheerleading squad and she names everyone on the squad “Madison” after her. She is causes trouble for Phoebe, but in the end Madison always gets what she deserves, especially in the first episode where I got SLIMED! What comes around goes around! Definitely a favorite moment on TV for me. Not to mention the cast is so amazing, and welcoming, we have to best time.
GLITTER: What’s it like to play Stefanie on Mighty Med?
BROOKE: Stefanie is your stereotypical queen bee, high school mean girl. She is Kaz’s love interest in the first couple episodes I am in, and Stefanie is always turning him down, until he finally gives up. It’s fun playing a manipulative character like Stefanie… not me in real life I promise! My favorite episode was when I got possessed by an evil villain from the Mighty Med hospital!
GLITTER: Who do you play on the upcoming episodes of ABC’s Modern Family?
BROOKE: I play Tammy. She’s the daughter of the new obnoxious family that moves in next door to the Dunphy’s. Our family causes problems for them, and they are always trying to get us to move out. Well, all of the Dunphy’s besides Luke Dunphy, want us to leave. In my most recent episode, Luke really takes a liking to my character and is trying to impress me. It’s so cool to be able to work an award winning show like Modern Family.
GLITTER: If you could be a series regular on any one show, what show would it be and why?
BROOKE: GLEE! I love singing just as much as I love acting. I would love to be a part of a project like Glee, where I get to incorporate both.
GLITTER: We understand you also have an amazing voice and have released a single, “No Ordinary Sky,” and are releasing a second one, “3 Days,” soon.
BROOKE: Aw thank you so much! Like I said, singing is another passion of mine, you can check out “No Ordinary Sky” on iTunes, and the music video on my YouTube channel. “3 Days” will be out very, very soon! This song is really all about girl empowerment that is what I love the most!
GLITTER: Would you ever consider releasing a full length album?
BROOKE: Right now, I’ve haven’t had the time to work on a full length album and balance my work at the same time… But keep an eye out for more songs! It’s definitely something that I am considering.
GLITTER: Favorite outdoor activity?
BROOKE: I LOVE to hike! Typical Californian. 😉 It’s so fun and you also get great exercise.
GLITTER: Who do you look up to for inspiration?
BROOKE: I love comedic actors like Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy, but also I look up to Angelina Jolie. She’s beautiful and so talented, not only in acting, but was able to take on and direct a really moving film like “Unbroken.”
GLITTER: What is something fans may not know about you?
BROOKE: I’m obsessed with elephants and pandas! I really want to go to Asia someday.
GLITTER: Do you have a secret crush on anyone?
BROOKE: Maybe… Maybe not….If it’s a secret I’m not supposed to tell right? 😉
GLITTER: What one message do you have for our readers?
BROOKE: BE YOU – That is the one biggest thing I have learned being in this business, don’t let anyone steal who you are or take away your joy.
GLITTER: Do you have any new projects coming up that you can tell us about?
BROOKE: Not that I can tell you all about yet… BUT keep an eye out for me in new episodes of The Thundermans, Mighty Med, and Austin and Ally! 🙂
