Ciara Bravo On Fox’s new series, Red Band Society.
Ciara Bravo is best known for playing Katie on the Nickelodeon hit show, Big Time Rush. She can be seen this fall on Fox’s new series, Red Band Society, alongside Academy Award winning actress, Octavia Spencer. Ciara recently sat down with Glitter Magazine to talk about the first season of Red Band Society, who she’d love to have guest star on the show, her favorite fall trend, and the three things she’d take with her on a deserted island. Hint, one of them knows how to survive in any situation and we love that about him. 
GLITTER: What can you tell us about the first season of Fox’s new series, Red Band Society? Who do you play?
CIARA: Red Band Society is about a group of teens in the Ocean Park Hospital. The show follows their lives as they grow and learn about themselves, their illnesses, and life as a whole. I play Emma Chota, a 16-year-old living with an eating disorder.
GLITTER: What is it like playing alongside Academy Award winner, Octavia Spencer?
CIARA: Octavia Spencer is a dream. She’s such an amazing actress and, honestly, I have a lot to learn from her. Plus, she’s entertaining. When Octavia is around, no one in frowning.
GLITTER: Who would you love to have as a guest star on Red Band Society?
CIARA: I think it would be nice to have some real patient’s guest star on the show, people who are dealing with these situations in their day to day life and can help tell the story. If they’re not available, I guess I’ll settle for Benedict Cumberbatch.
GLITTER: How did you get started in acting?
CIARA: I began acting when I was nine-years-old. I met my managers and my agent at a talent expo in Dallas. From there I was traveling back and forth to LA, auditioning any chance I had.
GLITTER: You’ve also done voice-over work as well. What do you like more? Voice-over work or live action filming?
CIARA: Voice-over and live action both have their pros and cons. When I get down to it, I like live action more than voice-over. Although, it’s nice to be able to show up to work in your pajamas!
GLITTER: How different is the Red Band Society from your work on Nickelodeon’s hit series, Big Time Rush?
CIARA: RBS is a total 180 from BTR. The comedic side of BTR has set me up for a great start on RBS, but the dramatic acting is very new. I’m excited to get to show everyone just how much I can do.
GLITTER: If you weren’t acting, what else would you love to do?
CIARA: I would love to stay in the film business. Directing and writing are two big passions on mine. If I wasn’t in the business, I’d be a journalist, maybe a travel blogger of sorts. Anything that keeps me out of an office!
GLITTER: Do you have any other upcoming projects you can tell us about?
CIARA: There are no projects as of now, but I’ll keep you updated!
GLITTER: Do you have a secret crush on anyone?
CIARA: I’ve got a big fat crush on Eddie Redmayne, but I’m trying to keep it on the DL.
GLITTER: What is your favorite thing about the fall season?
CIARA: Sweaters. Boy, oh BOY, do I love sweaters.
GLITTER: What is your favorite fall trend?
CIARA: Sweaters. I don’t know if I mentioned this, but I love sweaters…. and boots. Boots rock.
GLITTER: If you could take any three things with you to a deserted island, what would they be and why?
CIARA: Well, first I’d bring Bear Grylls because surviving is something I’d love to do. Second thing I would bring is a deck of cards. I love to keep myself entertained. Maybe by the end of our deserted island trip Bear and I will be poker champs. When we get back to civilization, we will go to all the poker competitions and dominate. People will love it. Finally, I’d bring something to play music with. I would go insane without some tunes.
