Read on to find out more about this amazingly talented actress.

WILLOW

GLITTER: For those only familiar with The Hunger Games film and not book trilogy, what can they expect to see from your character in Mockingjay, Part 1? Will Prim have more of a role this time around?

WILLOW: Fans can expect to see a much stronger Prim.  Prim plays a much larger role and becomes the support Katniss needs to begin the rebellion.

GLITTER: For those who aren’t familiar with the movies or books, what would you say to them to get them interested in both?

WILLOW: Of course it’s a really special thing to read the books first!  The books are brilliant and the world and characters Suzanne Collins creates are unique.  But the great thing about the movies is they can stand on their own without even reading the book series.  Francis does an incredible job showing us perspective from different characters and is great at creating awesome action scenes!

GLITTER: In 3 words how would you describe Mockingjay, Part 1?

WILLOW: Thrilling, stunning, and unique.

GLITTER: How did you have to mentally prepare more to play Prim in Mockingjay, Part 1?

WILLOW: I re-read Mockingjay and just thought about the character even more.  Where is she in that time and place?  What new emotions would Prim be feeling at that point in time?

GLITTER: What character has evolved the most?

WILLOW: I think that Katniss and Prim are two of the characters that have evolved the most.

Not just physically, but also mentally.  The have gone through so much in their lives.  The things that they have experienced have changed them, in different ways.  Prim gets stronger and Katniss actually loses strength.  The fact that Katniss is vulnerable really adds strength to the story.

GLITTER: What has been your favorite scene to shoot?

WILLOW: I love any scenes where there is a lot of action!  I really feel like I’m in a Hollywood movie when people are running and there’s smoke and explosions. Some pretty cool stuff!

GLITTER: What’s it like working with the cast?

WILLOW: I’m the luckiest kid to have worked with this cast!  Of course it’s cool to work with Oscar winning actors, but to find out that they are also kind and warm-hearted was a pretty big bonus!  We always had fun together and goofed around a lot.  I think we tested Francis’s patience sometimes laughing and joking between shots.  I can’t tell you how much I have learned from people like Woody, Josh, and, of course, Jen.

GLITTER: The best advice you’ve ever received?

WILLOW: “Stay true to yourself.”

GLITTER: If you could have dinner with anyone alive or dead, who would it be and what would you ask them?

WILLOW: I would probably have dinner with Chef Gordon Ramsay because we share the same favorite childhood meal, grilled cheese and tomato soup. Hopefully he would make the dinner too!  I’d probably ask him if he dips the grilled cheese into the tomato soup or eats it separately.

GLITTER: Do you have any hidden talents?

WILLOW: I really like photography, and so does my sister, Autumn.  We set up our own photo shoots, doing our own styling and photography.

GLITTER: Secret crushes?

WILLOW: Nat Wolff.

GLITTER: Last time we spoke you said you loved to read. What is your favorite book or series and why?

WILLOW: It’s super hard to pick a favorite book!  Right now I love Looking for Alaska, because it’s so real and interesting.  My second favorite is Girl, Interrupted because it’s so beautifully written.

GLITTER: You said you’d love to cook more. If you could master any one dish, what would it be and why?

WILLOW: I love to cook!  Right now I’m trying to master the crepe.  It seems like such a simple thing, but I’m really trying to perfect it!

GLITTER: We are in love with your style. How would you describe it?

WILLOW: I really appreciate fashion and enjoy wearing things that are a little on the edge, but are still what I considered to be chic.  I get a lot of satisfaction when I find the right combination for an outfit, or find the perfect dress.  It’s that moment when you believe it works.

GLITTER: Are you actively involved with NYFW?

WILLOW: I just got back from my first New York Fashion Week.  Can I say “Incredible?!”  I attended several shows including Christian Siriano, Betsey Johnson, Alice & Olivia, and Peter Som.  Of course, I was able to wear something from their line while attending.  I also have an incredible stylist, Law Roach, who guides me with some of my choices.  The coolest part about NYFW is getting to see so many people gathered together over one week that really appreciate fashion as an art form.

GLITTER: What are you working on next?

WILLOW: I’m really anxious to get back on set, there are a few projects that I am auditioning for.

GLITTER: How can people actively follow you?

WILLOW: Twitter @willowshields   and on Instagram @willowshields

I love, love Instagram, so that’s where you’ll see most of my posts!
