GLITTER: What can you tell us about the first season of Fox’s new series, Gotham? Who do you play?

CLARE: The first season of the show follows the story of detective James Gordon as he tries to do the right thing as a cop in the corrupt city Gotham. I play the young Poison Ivy, known as Ivy Pepper in the show. Her parents have recently died and she is out on the streets on her own. She is very mysterious, sneaky, and angry.

GLITTER: What’s it like playing a role that Uma Thurman did so well years ago? Did you look to her for inspiration?

CLARE: Playing the role after Uma Thurman is a great honor, but also big shoes to fill. I feel that playing the role after great actors is important to take inspiration from them and try to carry on the role.

GLITTER: What is it like playing alongside Ben McKenzie and Jada Pinkett Smith?

CLARE: To play alongside Ben and Jada is a great experience. Even though I don’t get to work with them often, it’s great to see them around set and just to be in the same show.

GLITTER: Who would you love to have as a guest star on Gotham?

CLARE: It would be fun to have one of my child actor friends like Sophie Nelisse on the show.

GLITTER: Who has been your favorite co-star so far?

CLARE: My favorite co-stars so far are Camren Bicondova and David Mazouz because it’s always a good time with kids on set!

GLITTER: How did you get started in acting?

CLARE: I started acting when I was five-years-old.  I used to see my two older brothers act and wanted to do it too.  My first job was a Cheerios commercial.

GLITTER: What is your favorite thing about the winter season?

CLARE: My favorite things about winter are drinking hot chocolate, snow, and the fashion!  I love wearing cute coats, gloves, and hats.

GLITTER: What are your favorite subjects in school?

CLARE: My favorite subjects in school are English and History.

GLITTER: What other projects are you working on?

CLARE: I have the following movies, The Great Gilly Hopkins, and Southpaw coming out this year.
