INTERVIEW WITH SWEET SUSPENSE
Sweet Suspense is a three-piece group composed of Celine Polenghi, Summer Reign, and Millie Thrasher. The group was formed on the U.S. edition of The X Factor‘s third season, where Kelly Rowland called them “sensational” and Simon Cowell crowed “these gals are already stars!” Glitter recently sat down with Celine, Millie, and Summer to talk about what it was like to be on The X Factor, what it’s like being on Jason Derulo’s label, the first song they fell in love with, and what it was like to hear their song on the radio for the first time. Read on to find out more about these amazing ladies!
GLITTER: What song made you first fall in love with music?
CELINE: “You and Me” – Lifehouse
MILLIE: “Somewhere over the Rainbow” – Judy Garland
SUMMER: “You Got a Friend in Me” – Toy Story
GLITTER: What was it like to be on The X-Factor? Who was your favorite judge?
CELINE: It was a great experience and we would have to say Simon because he brought the three of us together.
GLITTER: How did you feel when you first found out you were signed to Jason Derulo’s record label, Future History? Have you met him? If so, what is he like?
CELINE: We all cried.
MILLIE: We’re so thankful for our management team for making it happen.
SUMMER: It was a great moment for us. Jason is a great guy and extremely talented.
GLITTER: Tell us how your original holiday song, “Just Another Night,” came about.
CELINE: Our manager, Veronica Zelle, brought it to us and we knew it was a great match for us.
MILLIE: The moment we heard it, we fell in love.
SUMMER: We all think it is the perfect holiday song. We are absolutely obsessed with it.
GLITTER: What was it like listening to your music on the radio for the first time?
CELINE, MILLIE, AND SUMMER: We all starting yelling and crying. It was so incredible.
GLITTER: What’s been your favorite song to perform live and why?
CELINE: “Like a Girl.” It’s the ultimate girl anthem!
GLITTER: What can fans expect from your music?
SUMMER: Three words to describe our music would be: Urban, Pop, Edgy. We all have a different tone in each of our voices that bring a variety of genres and vibes together.
GLITTER: Craziest thing a fan has ever done for you?
MILLIE: A fan snuck into our hotel just to give us cupcakes. It was the sweetest thing ever, literally. 🙂
GLITTER: Who is an artist you’d love to collaborate with?
CELINE: Ohh tough one! Iggy. I love that she is such a strong female role model.
MILLIE: I would love to collaborate with Beyoncé! She is one of my favorite performers of all time.
SUMMER: Eminem is one of my favorite rappers. I would love to work with him one day.
GLITTER: Favorite thing about the winter season?
CELINE: Sweater weather and spending time with my family.
MILLIE: Making my grandpa’s cookies.
SUMMER: The feeling in the air. It’s so crisp that it makes me happy!
