INTERVIEW WITH ASHLEE KEATING
Ashlee Keating got her start at the age of six playing in the Sound of Music on Broadway. Glitter Magazine recently sat down with Ashlee to talk about her new EP, what she’s doing for the holidays, the biggest surprise anyone has ever given her, and what it was like to have her song, “Ice Kingdom,” chosen by Coca Cola as one of their 52 songs of happiness.

GLITTER: Tell us about your song, Ice Kingdom. How did that come about?
ASHLEE: I heard about this campaign with Coca Cola and decided to write a song and record a record for it and see what would happen. I had to write a song about one of my favorite places. I had visited the Queen Mary in Long Beach California the previous year and during the holiday season they transform everything into an ice kingdom. Everything is ice sculptures and made of ice. It really puts you into the holiday spirit in the middle of California and really inspired me while I was there to write this specific song “Ice Kingdom” for the Coca Cola campaign.
GLITTER: What was it like to be a part of the Coca-Cola “52 Songs of Happiness” campaign?
ASHLEE: It has been a complete honor. I was thrilled and so humbled and excited to be chosen from thousands of artists around the world and be 1 of 52 emerging artists chosen for this Coca Cola Campaign. It’s been amazing!
GLITTER: What was it like to participate in “Chill” at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA?

It really puts you into the holiday spirit in the middle of California and really inspired me while I was there to write this specific song “Ice Kingdom” for the Coca Cola campaign.
GLITTER: What can you tell us about your EP?
ASHLEE: I’ve been working really diligently on my new music and EP. Just been vibing and writing songs and freestyling off of guitar and collaborating with amazing writers/producers. Really excited to share these lyrics and new music with all my fans very soon. The creative process has been going really great! I want my fans to relate to my lyrics/songs.
GLITTER: What has been the best surprise anyone has ever given you?
ASHLEE: Getting my first guitar!
GLITTER: Who is your dream collaboration with?
ASHLEE: There’s so many artists and different people I would love to collaborate with!! As far as artists right now, a dream collab would be with Ed Sheeran. Producer wise it would definitely be Max Martin!
GLITTER: What is your favorite part about the winter season?
ASHLEE: Favorite part of the winter season is celebrating the holidays with family during this time and spreading love and joy. I also love when I’m sitting by the fire and when it snows when I go to the mountains.
GLITTER: How will you be spending your holidays?
ASHLEE: I will be spending time with family and friends as well as going skiing in the mountains, which I love.
GLITTER: What do you have planned for the upcoming year?
ASHLEE: I have a lot planned for 2015! I’m playing a leading role as Samantha Cole in the film The Mint, which will be released sometime next year. I’m planning on releasing my new single, “Red Eye,” as well as finishing on working on my EP and releasing that. I also plan on doing a lot of performances & interviews and going out to meet my fans!!
