INTERVIEW WITH JADA FACER
Jada Facer is best known for playing Dani, Joey’s surprise daughter, on the ABC Family’s hit show, Melissa & Joey. In addition to acting, Jada also writes songs with her brother, Kyson. They record cover songs and put them up on their YouTube channel. Her favorite cover song with Kyson is “The Days” by Avicii. Jada also loves the outdoors and cooking. We even have one of her favorite recipes. Read on to find out more about this talented actress!

GLITTER: When did you first start acting?
JADA: I feel like I have been acting my whole life. I was always putting on plays for my family when I was little. But, I started preforming, and doing musical theater when I was about seven. Then when I was nine, we moved to California and I started auditioning for film and TV.
GLITTER: What’s it like acting on ABC Family’s Melissa & Joey? Who do you play?
JADA: I play Dani, Joe’s surprise daughter! Dani is a very spunky character, and a little manipulative in a way. I always get excited to see what the writers have written for my character. She’s tons of fun to play because her personality is so different from mine.
Working on Melissa & Joey was like a dream come true. Everyone is so amazingly sweet and they made me feel welcomed from the start.
GLITTER: Who has been your favorite co-star?
JADA: I don’t know if I can choose! They were all so great to work with! Everyone is so talented and they are always making me laugh!
GLITTER: What is your favorite cover song that you’ve recorded with your brother so far and why?
JADA: I think my favorite song I did with my brother would have to be “The Days” by Avicii. I loved slowing it down and playing the piano with Kyson on the guitar.
GLITTER: What is your favorite dish to cook? May we have the recipe?
JADA: I don’t know if you can consider this a dish, but I love making my Great Grandma’s “Bran Muffins.” They are SO good and really simple!
GLITTER: What do you love most about Shirley Temple?
JADA: I love how sweet Shirley Temple was. Watching her in her movies always made me smile. I wished I could’ve met her. I use to have a VHS called “Sing and Dance along with Shirley” and it was my favorite! I used to spend my entire day pretending to be her.
GLITTER: What was it like to meet Jake T. Austin?
JADA: I was so excited…And very nervous! I’ve had a crush on him since Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. I could hardly talk. He probably thought I was a little crazy.
GLITTER: What is your favorite outdoor activity?
JADA: I love camping! So does my dog, Pixie! I think that’s why I love it so much. I love watching her run around the woods like she is having the best time of her life! It’s so fun!
GLITTER: How will you be spending your holidays?
JADA: I’m going home for the holidays, which I can hardly wait for! We always have a big party and I get to see all of my cousins. Even Santa makes an appearance!
GLITTER: What do you have planned for the upcoming year?
JADA: I’m really excited for 2015. I’m going to continue acting and I hope I get some of my original songs out! Also, I keep begging my mom to take me to see Wicked (Even though I’ve seen it like ten times) and a Taylor Swift concert would be amazing! Maybe if I keep asking her enough, she will let me go. Fingers crossed!
