HOW TO: RECYCLED BOOKMARK!
Recycled Bookmark
With just a few supplies, you can create a one of a kind, personalized bookmark. It’s a unique way to recycle your old magazines and cardboard. Whether you’re taking notes or reading a book, this bookmark will help you go back-to-school with style.
Supplies:
– Page from an old fashion magazine
– Rectangle piece of scrap cardboard
– Jewelry pliers
– Hole puncher
– Scissors
– Gluestick
– Metal charm
– Several strands of embroidery thread
About 6 strands of thread should be enough. You can even coordinate the colors with the images on the page.
1) Glue the cardboard onto the magazine page. Cut the excess paper, leaving extra “flaps” on each side (as shown above).
2) Fold down the “flaps” of paper one at a time, gluing them to the cardboard. Press down to secure.
3) Repeat until all sides are folded down and glued.
4) Punch a hole at the end of the bookmark.
5) Tie the embroidery thread through the hole.
6) If you’d like, braid the thread. Tie the charm to the end. You now have a personalized – and fashionable – bookmark!
