REAL PEOPLE: Ten-Year-Old, Jetta, Bullied for Donating Hair

JETTATen-year-old, Jetta Fosberg, donated her 14 inches of hair to cancer patients and rocked a new pixie cut style to school.  She had no idea she would be bullied by her classmates! Peers taunted her that she looked and wanted to be a boy and that she was ugly.  The internet came to her rescue with overwhelming support.

“(Other kids said she) wanted to be a boy, and (called her) ugly,” her mom, Heidi, told WCPO news partner WHIO.

Jetta attends Pathway School of Discovery, a free public K-8 charter school in Dayton, Ohio. She is happy with her choice to cut off her locks, and she leans towards the more positive people who love her new cut!

Jetta’s family have set up a Facebook page to promote her journey through cutting and donating her hair to make wigs for patients with cancer. She has reached almost 75,000 likes!
