Interview with Tiffany Houghton
Tiffany Houghton just wrapped up touring with MKTO on August 17th. You know them and love them and now you’re going to fall in love with Tiffany’s sound.
Her fans are super sweet and dedicated, and she’d love to duet with Nick Jonas someday. Nick, if you’re listening, Tiffany has already written the song. She just needs your amazing voice to help with the duet.
GLITTER: What made you fall in love with music?
TIFFANY: It’s hard to say because I was so young, but I do remember being three-years-old listening to “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” by Shania Twain and looking at the speaker in my dad’s car. I promised myself that I would be on the other side of that speaker someday.
GLITTER: What’s it like touring with MKTO for their American Dream tour?
TIFFANY: I feel like I’m living my American Dream. Being able to play music every day makes me so happy and the guys are awesome! Tony and I went and bought some Mardi Gras masks in New Orleans! Malcolm and I like to play basketball. We’re making a team! 😉 …I think we’re better as musicians though.
GLITTER: What is your single, “High,” about?
TIFFANY: I was telling my best friend about this perfect date I had gone on the night before when I said, “I don’t know why they call it falling in love because I’ve never felt so high.” Then immediately I rushed off the phone and wrote the lyrics sitting on my kitchen floor in my apartment. Funny how love can make you feel!
GLITTER: What was it like listening to your music on the radio for the first time?
TIFFANY: My entire reaction is posted on my Instagram! Haha. It was a feeling unlike any other I’ve felt before. Definitely one of the happiest moments of my life.

GLITTER: What’s been your favorite song to perform live?
TIFFANY: Band Boy!
GLITTER: What can fans expect from your music?
TIFFANY: I’m definitely a 90s chick! 😉 Born in 1993, and raised on what was on the radio. I love to write and have found that I tend to write out lyrical stories with pop melodies.
GLITTER: Craziest thing a fan has ever done for you?
TIFFANY: The other day a little boy asked me if I would give him his first kiss (on the cheek) if he did a back handspring. Definitely a fair trade! Also my sweet fan, Jenna, talked to all the TiFANies online and brought me boxes of fan mail and fan art. It meant so much to me!
GLITTER: Who is an artist you’d love to meet?
TIFFANY: I’d love to meet Nick Jonas, and sing a duet with him. (I already wrote the song!)
GLITTER: If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive, who would it be and why?
TIFFANY: I would love to sit down with my great grandmother because everyone in my family LOVED her and always tells me what a beautiful inspiring person she was.
GLITTER: What’s your song, “Glitter,” about? Our girls would love to know. 🙂
TIFFANY: It’s easy to lose the relationship you have with yourself in order to be in a relationship with someone who doesn’t want you to be yourself. This song is about my journey of losing that sparkle and then getting it back.
GLITTER: What’s one beauty product you can’t live without?
TIFFANY: Garnier skin renew tissue masks!
GLITTER: Favorite thing about the fall season?
TIFFANY: My manager is in a really good mood.
GLITTER: Favorite activity to do with your friends?
TIFFANY: Play music with them.
