Exclusive interview with Julie Anne San Jose! She talks about one of her favorite clothing lines, Almost Famous, and what it’s like to make music! Check it out and MORE below…

Tell us about Almost Famous, what do you love about the brand?

Super stylish and comfortable. Also, very affordable for girls who want to get my looks!

Let’s talk about your career- how did you get started in the music world?

Ha! I guess I was born to make music! J….but seriously, for as long as I can remember, music has always been what defines me. I started singing when I was 2 and a half years old. My grandparents actually persuaded me to join different TV shows and singing contests. I took voice lessons when I was three, but it didn’t last very long. I had to stop cuz I had to start school. Left the music business for a good length of time. I made my comeback when I joined another TV (singing) competition. I was 12 years old then. That’s how it all started. Till now I’m still here. Enjoying the ride. Loving the industry and continuing my passion for music.

Do you have a favorite song you’ve recorded?

Yes! It’s a Filipino/Tagalog song that I wrote…about myself J. It basically explains or talks about what I’ve been through, me being in the limelight. It’s one of the tracks in my upcoming album.

How has your experience been in the recording studio?

It feels great! I feel like I could stay there forever, you know? Nah, stay a whole day…or two haha! I mean, I’m comfortable in that kind of surrounding. It’s my playground, so to speak.

What is the best part about being in the music business?

The best part is I get to share my talents and skills with other people and inspire them through my music.

Tell us about your hit song “Right Where You Belong”, what is it about?

It’s a song about being far from loved ones, and wishing that you’d be with them, letting them know that even if you’re not together, you still think about them and they’re in your heart always. But what makes it special, is that, the song is not just about couples or lovers that are separated by distance, it applies to everyone. Everyone can relate to it.

You have a large social media following! What is the best part about connecting with fans?

If and when time permits, I do interact with them. Not just through social media. I also get to see and meet some of them, spend time with them. I want them to feel that they have a special place in my heart. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be where I am right now. I owe them a lot, I’m thankful and blessed to have them. I’m very grateful for their support.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I read books…a lot of books! Haha..Honing my music skills. Play musical instruments. I do firing and I’ve recently taken a liking in archery. I hope I can find time to master it or play, to say the least. It’s an intense sport in the sense that it takes a disciplined mind and a peaceful heart to hit that target. I find it very challenging and at the same time very relaxing…I also box and go to the gym. So, yeah, that’s pretty much it.

If you aren’t in the recording studio, what are you doing?

School. Or stay at home. Or spend time, bond with my family.

Do you have any favorite fan experiences?

I have a lot but what sticks in mind is when they scream really loud or cry when they see me. It’s an awesome experience when you see people react to you like that, you know? Weird but awesome! Haha! Cuz you know that you’re doing something right, something that they like. They even send me gifts and stuff. Such sweet things.

Do you have any upcoming news you’d like to share with fans?

I think they know it already. Haha… I always keep them abreast with what’s going on with me. So yeah, there’s my upcoming album to be released in June, a couple of TV shows and concerts, of course. Please do watch out for all those and much, much more….
