Merritt sat down with Glitter Magazine and discussed why she wanted to audition for this role, what Ravenswood is about, other projects she can be seen in this year, and the best advice she ever received. Read on to find out more about this amazing actress.

GLITTER: What can you tell us about your upcoming role on Ravenswood. Who do you play?
MERRITT: I play Olivia Matheson, twin to Luke Matheson, who is played by Brett Dier. Olivia has grown up in a family that has provided her with everything, but her world is turned upside down by a recent tragedy. This has her questioning what’s really important.

GLITTER: What can fans expect in the show? Any mysteries or surprises?
MERRITT: Fans can expect a lot of mystery, a little horror and a sufficient amount of creep. The show will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat and wanting more!

GLITTER: What made you want to audition for this role?
MERRITT: The first thing I was told was that the show would be a Pretty Little Liars spin-off. That initially peaked my interest. We were given very little information to audition with, but from the sides I could tell the project was going to be exciting!

GLITTER: You’ve played in several other movies and TV series. What has been one of your favorite roles to play and why?
MERRITT: Each role is exciting for different reasons. I especially enjoyed playing Angelina in the feature, Wolves. She’s a strong, edgier character. Stacy in Radio Rebel was also a lot of fun too, really over the top!

GLITTER: From all the roles you’ve done which can character do you think you’re most like?
MERRITT: I try to bring different characteristics of myself to each character. Olivia and I have quite a few similarities.

GLITTER: How do you prepare for auditions? Do you get nervous?
MERRITT: Depends on the audition! I generally focus on learning lines first, to the point where I can say them without trying to remember and then I breakdown the script. There is always a hint of nerves at auditions, but as long as I’m prepared, I feel good.

GLITTER: What do you love most about acting?
MERRITT: Telling stories and becoming different people! You get to learn about a lot of things you may not have otherwise.

GLITTER: If you could film anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
MERRITT: Europe! I’ve never been and I’m dying to go. Especially the Mediterranean. I’d also love to work in Africa.

GLITTER: When you’re not working what do you enjoy to do on your free time?
MERRITT: Depends on where I am. I try to stay active which usually involves hiking, biking and the gym/gym classes. I watch a lot of movies and TV shows! I love to read if I can find a good book. Spending time with my family is important whenever I get a chance!

GLITTER: Can you tell us what other roles you have coming up this year?
MERRITT: I’m waiting on the release of a few independent movies. Rufus, Kid Cannabis, and Primary will all hopefully be released within the next year! I also filmed the feature, Wolves, last fall in Toronto, ONT. and that should be hitting theatres in 2014!

GLITTER: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
MERRITT: Love what you do. I think that’s really important. It affects every aspect of your life. Being happy and staying positivity is key.
