Peyton List talks about Jessie + Girls on the Run.

peytonPeyton List is best known for her role as Emma Ross on The Disney Channel’s hit show, Jessie, but did you know that she had Shirley Temple curls when she was younger, or that she was partners with her twin brother, Spencer, in ballroom competition, or that her favorite book is Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky? Neither did we. Read Glitter Magazine’s exclusive interview below to get the scoop on the amazing Peyton List!

GLITTER: What has been your favorite role to play so far?
PEYTON: I’ve been playing Emma for three seasons on Jessie and I’ve really become attached to her.

GLITTER: How much of Peyton goes into your role of Emma on Jessie?
PEYTON: We are really different, but we both love fashion and Emma can be smart at times. She just applies herself to things she likes and the rest doesn’t matter as much.

GLITTER: How did you get into acting?
PEYTON: I got into acting when I was six-years-old. I started doing commercials around when I was four. I had Shirley Temple curls and was super bubbly and talkative.

GLITTER: How do you and your castmates spend your downtime?
PEYTON: Whenever we have downtime, we are in school. Every break we head to school, except for lunch when all the kids and guest stars sit outside on the lot and eat lunch together. We also play games in our dressing rooms.

GLITTER: Have you ever done competition ballroom dancing?
PEYTON: I actually have! Just like Emma and Luke competed against Bertram in our salsa episode! We had to take ballroom in 4th and 5th grade at school and then I continued to take classes through middle school. We had a competition and my twin brother, Spencer, and I were partners. We won quite a few first places!

GLITTER: Who would you love to see guest star on Jessie?
PEYTON: I love Emma Stone. It would be really cool to have her on the show.

GLITTER: Do you ever shoot in front of a live audience?
PEYTON: Yeah, we sometimes get to shoot in front of a live audience, but usually we don’t because we have such crazy episodes. If we have a lot of animals like in the Girl Scout episode where we had an ostrich, we usually don’t do them then.

GLITTER: How do you get over your “pre-show jitters”?
PEYTON: I don’t really get the jitters anymore. If I do get the pre-show jitters, I just run my lines over and over and over again to make sure I have them down.

GLITTER: Did you ever imagine yourself on the Disney Channel?
PEYTON: No, never. I always loved Disney Channel and would watch it all the time. The funny thing is my mom would say to me stop watching it and get on it. I would just laugh because I never thought that would happen, but look at me now! Haha!

GLITTER: How supportive are your family members of your acting?
PEYTON: They are so supportive. I wouldn’t be where I am now without my parents. I’m really fortunate to have them.

GLITTER: Can you tell us what you do for Girls on the Run and how others can get involved?
PEYTON: I volunteer with Girls on the Run on a national level. I’m their first celebrity volunteer. I work with young girls to realize they’re great just how they are. I go regularly to schools to work & help with the girls to talk about topics like: bullying, eating healthy, gossip, and other social issues. Plus, we run!

GLITTER: What are your top three iPod picks for relaxing after a long day on set?
PEYTON: “Carried Away” by Passion Pit; “Treacherous” by Taylor Swift; and “Anything” by Imagine Dragons 🙂
