Stevie Lynn Jones chats with Glitter!

Glitter Magazine recently sat down with Stevie Lynn Jones to give us the lowdown on her upcoming NBC TV show, Crisis, which is a must-watch on our lists and should be on yours as well!

GLITTER: Did you know you always wanted to do TV shows? Or did you ever consider theater?

KELI: Honestly, I loved dancing but singing isn’t my best. So theater probably wasn’t my best option. But, I did a lot of extra-curriculars, and I was a diver, I did kung-fu. I started professionally auditioning, and I got an agent. It wasn’t until two years after that, that I said ‘This is my passion’. Before it was just fun, but now it’s something I want to be my career.

GLITTER: Tell us about Crisis on NBC!

KELI: It is about high school preparatory kids in Washington, D.C., we are all children of the elite, we have the President’s son on the bus, we have congressmen’s daughters, etc. We are on a bus going to a field trip and get kidnap and taken hostage. The show is about the teenagers and what they are going through, and these powerful powers and what they’ll do to get their kids back, because they are not used to being told they can’t have something, and they have the money/power to look and find these kids on their own. It’s also about Rachel Taylor who plays an FBI Agent, and is the investigator of this situation and it’s also her story. She teams up with a secret service agent, and it’s all about the same situation but a lot of the actors don’t have scenes with each other. I’m never on set with Rachel, or a lot of other actors.

It’s really like three separate shows! It keeps things new, and people don’t get tired of one another that’s for sure.

GLITTER: How does being on a TV show differ from being on a web show? We know you were on Awesomeness TV!

STEVIE: It doesn’t really differ too much besides being NBC and Awesomeness TV, and the amount of people in the crew. That’s a huge difference there, but actually working with the actors and shooting it isn’t very different.

GLITTER: What can you tell us about filming? What is the day in the life of an actor like?

STEVIE: It’s a dream come true completely. I love being on set. I go to set on my days off, because I love the crew and the atmosphere. It’s amazing how everyone comes together to make magic. There are certain days where all the kids are together in the hostage situation, and we are there ALL day. That’s the most fun because we are all there and we have a large group of teenagers, and all the extras that we get to know. We’re really close and have inside jokes. You become a family, and unfortunately that only happens one or two days. But whenever that DOES happen, it’s really fantastic.

GLITTER: What would you be doing if you weren’t acting?

STEVIE: I don’t believe in a back-up plan, because I think that means that you don’t succeed with your A plan. This would be when I would go to college, and it’s like me moving to college working in Chicago instead of going to school. I decided that early on, and I knew that I wanted to pursue acting with every single way that I could. But if I wasn’t acting, I would love being behind the scenes, because my mom is a producer and I grew up with that.

It’s all sort of in the same thing, and I’ve been an PA on set before, and I really would do anything to be on set. It’s awesome to be behind the scenes and see the magic happen.

GLITTER: So your family was supportive of you! That’s great!

STEVIE: Of course, they’ve always been supportive.

GLITTER: Does your family ever give you acting advice?

STEVIE: I don’t let them see me act, because it’s been kind of my thing, but they’ve been part of the business side of things. They’ve helped me pick and agent, and which meetings to go to and such. You always have to learn that.

GLITTER: If you could work with anyone dead or alive, who would it be?

STEVIE: John Wayne. He’s my favorite actor of all time, and I’d love to be in an old western with him. And maybe Chris Pine, he’s really hot.

GLITTER: Do you have any hidden talents?

STEVIE: I really don’t have anything hidden!!

GLITTER: What are your plans for Christmas?

STEVIE: I was thinking about staying in Chicago, but now I’m planning on California. It’s way too cold here. Just hanging out, seeing my parents, seeing friends coming home from college.

We don’t really have traditions, but we have a fireplace and there is always a fire crackling.

GLITTER: Do you have any celebrity crushes?

STEVIE: Chris Pine. He’s a good looker, AND a good actor.

GLITTER: Do you have a favorite actress?

STEVIE: Julian Moore. I am really loving her right now. I just saw The Teacher, and she’s really great.

GLITTER: Why should people watch Crisis? What will people love?

STEVIE: Crisis is interesting because it reaches every single demographic. We have teenagers, we have young adults, and people will love to watch it because they can relate. It’s high drama, lots of scandal, and action. Every ounce of anything dramatic is in this show. We have people fighting guns, we have long lost sisters who didn’t talk for sixteen years because they are kidnapped, father-daughter relationships, people with millions of dollars being manipulators, every single dramatic plot that you can think of is in Crisis. Because it’s a Crisis after all!!

GLITTER: When can people watch?

STEVIE: Sunday nights at 10 p.m., after the Olympics on NBC!
