Janel Parrish designs custom bullying prevention t-shirt
Janel Parrish, who plays Mona on ABC Family’s hit show, Pretty Little Liars, designed a t-shirt to help prevent bullying. Did you know that 160,000 kids stay home from school each day to avoid their bullies? Bullying causes depression and can even lead to suicide. PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center helps make a difference for kids, their parents and even schools by uniting and educating communities to help prevent bullying and are doing so with their CustomInk’s “Be Good to Each Other” campaign.
Celebrities like Janel are helping donate to the cause and created t-shirts like the one she designed below. We sat down with Janel for a quick chat on the bullying prevention campaign and what’s she’s up to next.
GLITTER: What are you working on right now?
JANEL: Finishing up season 4 of Pretty Little Liars!
GLITTER: Why did you get involved in the CustomInk’s Be Good to Each Other campaign?
JANEL: I think it’s wonderful campaign that helps support people who feel they have none. Bullying is never okay and no one should have to suffer because of it.
GLITTER: Have you ever been bullied before?
JANEL: Slightly. When in elementary and middle school.
GLITTER: How did you rise above the occasion and not become a victim?
JANEL: I was lucky enough to have a lot of support from my family. And they taught me the most important thing you can do to rise above bullying is to believe in yourself.
GLITTER: What can people do if they see someone else being bullied?
JANEL: Offer support and an ear.
GLITTER: What can we see you in next and what charities are they working with currently and how can others get involved?
