The Loudmouth Blogger!

GLITTER: When did you start blogging? What inspired you?
STEPHANIE (THE LOUDMOUTH LIFESTYLE): I began The Loudmouth Lifestyle at the tail end of 2010.  I had always loved writing, photography and fashion… blogging seemed like the perfect way to blend it all together!  It’s also a wonderful forum for me to publicly touch lives with positivity and warmth.

GLITTER: What does the Loudmouth Lifestyle stand for?
STEPHANIE: It took me awhile to really hone in on my true purpose for blogging.  I simply called it The Loudmouth at the beginning, but I felt like something was missing.  My blog has evolved, along with myself and my life, and is now representative of a specific lifestyle.  A ‘loudmouth’ is a woman who focuses on the positive, cherishes every moment, and gives 110% in everything she does. It’s the way I strive to live… and though it can be hard, it makes my life easier, fuller and more rewarding!

GLITTER:  Why is self-styling and personal style important for blogging?
STEPHANIE: As a style blogger, I think it’s important to be your own unique self!  This is beneficial for both you and your readers; it helps your style develop and evolve while also displaying a real and true person to your audience.

GLITTER: How would you describe your personal style?
STEPHANIE: My style is classy, girly, edgy, flirty, thrifty, nerdy… it’s an eclectic mix!  I like to sum it up in three words: work meets play.  I love layers and adore accessories.  My favorite pieces to play with are skirts, shorts and blazers.  So much fun!

GLITTER: Has blogging changed the way you view fashion? If so, how?
STEPHANIE:: I don’t think blogging has changed my view of fashion as much as it has broadened my view.  I feel like I learn something new each and every day, and it can always be applied to my own personal style and life.  It’s an awesome journey.

GLITTER: As a blogger, what role do you believe trends play in the fashion industry?
STEPHANIE: Trends are a huge moneymaker.  I’d like to believe I’m a non-conformist and I’ll only follow a trend that I truly love!  If it’s something I know I won’t still wear in a year, I don’t buy it.

GLITTER: Is it necessary to shop for trends or designer items in order to have personal style?
STEPHANIE: Absolutely not.  You can wear anything you like, from anywhere, created by anyone — and it’ll still encompass your personal style!  I love Michael Kors just as much as I love Salvation Army.  If you like it, wear it!

GLITTER: What is the best part about being a fashion and lifestyle blogger?
STEPHANIE: It’s a powerful thing.  I love being able to touch lives with my work.  That’s really my biggest goal!  I want to make people smile — as long as I’m doing that, I’m succeeding.

GLITTER: What advice would you give to young teens seeking to break into fashion or any field that they are passionate about?
STEPHANIE: Listen to your heart, not your head — even the most illogical can be possible when we work at it.  But be patient!  Give it time and don’t be too hard on yourself.  And as with anything, practice makes perfect.  Learn as much as you can and keep trying!
