How did you get your role on “Sonny with a Chance” ?

I got my role on “Sonny with a Chance” through a series of auditions which included sketches and characters I created including impersonations that I use to this day!!

Are there any similarities between you and your character Nico? Any differences?

There are tons of similarities between me and my character Nico. Nico is almost identical to me when I was 16/17 years old. Energetic, charismatic, funny, and of course a ladies man. We also both were very much into the fashion scene and always wanted to be unique and stylish. The difference between me and my character Nico is that when I was 17, I definitely was not on a cool sketch comedy show like “SO Random” aka “SOR”!! It’s great to be able to relive my teenage years on a sketch comedy show like “So Random” all the while being able to watch and be inspired by the legends at “SNL”, that’s our inspiration at “SOR”, so basically I LOVE MY JOB!

What thought or message would you put in a fortune cookie?

I really like this question! The thought or message that I would put in a fortune cookie would go a little something like this. The Power of WE = being you….breathe & smile

What is your favorite thing about working for Disney?

My favorite thing about working for Disney is knowing that I essentially have a second home. I am a part of a group of dedicated driven individuals that care for me as I do for them. We are all dedicated to the most simple and essential goal that I have always had since I was a little boy and what keeps me excited to go work for Disney everyday, which is, making families laugh and putting a smile on millions of faces every night.

What was “Skating with the Stars” like? Before the show did you have a background in skating?

“Skating With The Stars” was an amazing experience for me. It really taught me the true meaning of dedication and hard work. It also was a great chance for me to learn something cool and new. Challenging myself to a new and cool experience was such a thrill for me. It’s the same feeling I get when I’m having fun with creating new characters on “So Random”. This is how I can compare the way in which I created my signature one foot spin on “Skating With the Stars” !! And of course my signature moon walk – oh yeah… shout out to my man Michael Jackson for the inspiration. I think me, Usher and maybe Justin Bieber, need to have an ice skate moon walk off ! That could be fun! Before the show I did not have a background in ice skating, I have been roller skating since I was 7 years old. A fun fact most people don’t know about me is that when I was younger I almost played the role of Lil Bow Wow in “Roll Bounce” the hit skating movie! I digress. I did not have a background in ice skating but I picked it up really quick and really became pretty good which surprised me!

What is your dream role?

My dream role would to play opposite Denzel Washington or Will Smith in a dramatic period movie, maybe 1920’s because I love old school clothing and cars! I love those actors and the way in which they’ve had a diverse set of roles in their careers. I especially admire the way in which Will Smith went from an amazing comedy like “Fresh Prince Of Bel Air” to dramatic films and big action films like “Men in Black” and “Seven Pounds”. These are the type of dream roles I hope to have and achieve after “So Random” which I hope goes for another 5 years . I feel as if every role is a dream role because it’s a dream come true to be able to do what I truly love everyday, which is make people smile.

Imagine you just invented a time machine, where and when would you travel to?

If I could invent a time machine I would go back to the 1980’s and pull out my I-Phone and ask someone if they wanted to video chat! That could be fun, seeing people’s reactions would be priceless! 🙂

What is it like working with Demi Lovato?

It’s amazing to have been able to work with such a great cast for the past 3 years on SWAC SO Random! Every one of my cast members Allison, Doug, Sterling, Tiffany and Demi have been like family to me. To be able to go to work everyday and work with such a great group of actors is amazing.
