Girls Who Rock Concert!

GIRLS WHO ROCK, an electrifying, inspiring benefit concert, will take place on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Santos Party House in New York City.  Female recording artists Kat DeLuna, Lenka, MoZella, Shontelle, Cara Salimando and Kelli Pyle, along with DJ Kalkutta, will make music to make a difference for She’s the First, raising funds to support girls’ education in Africa.  She’s the First is a global education campaign that sends girls to school around the world, so they can break barriers and become “the first” to achieve amazing goals. Brooklyn-based actor Chris Bashinelli will emcee the evening. Bashinelli is executive director and host of “Bridge the Gap,” an internationally recognized documentary web series about sustainable development and cultural immersion.

THE CAUSE

She’s the First promotes the importance of educating girls, especially in the developing world. We sponsor girls around the globe by encouraging young women to unlock the power of their social networks and creatively fundraise, giving underprivileged girls the means to break barriers and become the “first” to achieve their special goals. Visit shesthefirst.org to watch our debut PSA with singer JoJo and access our directory of vetted international organizations that are sending underprivileged girls to school.
