How did you get into sewing?
Boredom…

Can you tell us about how you got
started?
The first time I sewed was in Home Ec.

class in 8th glade, I made a pillow, a really crappy pillow. After that my parents bought me a little sewing machine which I never touched until about six months ago when I really started sewing.

Where is your workshop?
My workshop is in my house, my dad made me a cute little area to put all my stuff. Although it’s not completely finished yet.

Do you have help?
Nope, I’ve taught myself everything I know.

where else do you sell besides online?
Not really, just to friends and family, but someday I plan on having my own shop.

Do you go to tradeshows?
No, but in late October I will have a booth at my first craft fair.

Where do you shop on the regular for
stylish finds?
I shop everywhere. Thrift stores, Target and Forever 21
are my favorites.

Is this your career or a hobby?
Career, well I’m making it into a career.

How much time do you put into this each week?
I craft at least 4 hours a day seven days a week.

Where did u go to school?
I went to Pymatuning Valley High School, but right now I’m being home schooled for my senior year of high school so I have more time to craft.

What are your passions in life?
My passions are sewing, body modification and
photography

What advice can you give to a teen
interested in becoming a designer?
Practice, practice, practice.

What’s on your MP3 currently?
Smashing Pumpkins! They’re all I listen to, I love them so much!

What do you do on your down time?
My down time is spent with my boyfriend, Kevin.

Do you watch tv if is so which channels? No, I rarely watch tv.

What moves you to succeed on a daily basis?  Satisfaction of hearing that people like what I make.

Are you one who has to work hard
mentally towards success or do you think it naturally comes easy for you and your personality?  I have to work hard, but it’s easy for me to work hard, if that makes any sense.

In other words, what stops you from grabbing some chips and dips and working 9-5? Well. I do grab chips and dip 9-5. I just work while I eat. Haha, but really, I love what I do.

What pieces are your favorite?
One of my favorite piece that I have for sale is Leonard, one of my monster, I almost don’t want to sell him. He’s so stinken big and cute.

Who are your influences and why?
I’m influenced by everything around me. All artists
inspire me.

What are the major themes in your work? Major themes…hmm…cuteness? Haha. I’m not sure.

How many different types of
merchandise do you have? I have lots of
different things. I have pins, monsters, purses, plugs,
necklace, pretty much a little bit of everything.
